Video game developer Hi-Rez Studios and the World Esports Association have agreed a rights partnership with social media platform Facebook for new esports competition the Paladins Premier League.
Under the terms of the deal, the length of which was not disclosed, Paladins Premier League content will be exclusively streamed via Facebook Live, while amateur players will be granted a path to compete at a professional level through Facebook Groups.
Paladins Premier League livestreams will kick off later this year on Facebook.
The Paladins Premier League is the newly-established, official esports league of Hi-Rez Studios’ first-person shooter game Paladins, which has more than 15 million players worldwide.
The Paladins Premier League consists of 10 member organisations from the WESA, a group that shares a collective vision to continue to professionalise esports.
