The Fox International Channels broadcast subsidiary of media company 21st Century Fox has completed the rebranding of its sports channels airing in the Philippines.
Fox’s cable television lineup in the southeast Asian country will now consist of Fox Sports, Fox Sports 2 and Fox Sports 3. The three rebranded channels replace ESPN Philippines, Star Sports, and Fox Sports Plus, respectively.
The flagship Fox Sports channel will feature events like select basketball matches from North American league the NBA and the Philippine Basketball Association, along with football games from the Spanish Liga, as well as Asian competitions the AFC Champions League, AFC Cup and AFF Suzuki Cup.
“The rebrand of the network aims to change the way fans view sports by providing localised content and sports entertainment to add to the timely and accurate coverage of marquee sports events around the world that has made the brand a leading sports outfit in the region,” Jude Turcuato, FIC senior vice-president and general manager of FIC Philippines, said, according to the Business World website.
