Subscription OTT platform DAZN has signed a deal for broadcast rights in Spain to the ongoing Fifa Club World Cup.
The deal gives DAZN the exclusive rights to broadcast three matches from the tournament, including this week’s two semi-finals and the final.
Dentsu, Fifa’s sales agent for the competition, negotiated the deal.
The agreement also expands the number of territories where DAZN now holds the exclusive Club World Cup rights after signing a deal in Germany earlier this month.
Dentsu has already agreed a slew of rights deals in key territories such as the Middle East and North Africa (beIN), Australia (Optus), Turkey (Saran) and the UK (BBC).
The agency has also concluded a sprawling deal with Eurovision Sport, the sports arm of the European Broadcasting Union. That deal covers 37 territories across Europe for the 2019 and 2020 Club World Cup tournaments.
The Club World Cup joins other football properties in DAZN’s Spanish portfolio, including the English Premier League, the Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana and the Spanish Copa Del Rey.
