Fina, the global governing body of aquatic sports, has partnered with digital media company Omnigon to launch its first mobile app.
The launch of the app, which primarily focuses on swimming for the first release, has been timed to coincide with the 2016 World Swimming Championships (25m), which takes place from December 6-11 in Windsor, Canada.
A second release of the app is planned for March 2017 with diving data and results being the focus. The complete version of the app will be released prior to the 2017 Fina World Championships, which will be held in Budapest, Hungary, from July 14-30.
A dedicated media section within the app will include content such as video highlights and social media streams.
