Fina, the international aquatics federation, has renewed a rights deal in Japan with commercial broadcaster TV Asahi.
The new deal will run until 2019 and extends an agreement that began in 2011.
The rights cover the Fina World Championships in 2015 in Kazan, Russia; 2017 in Guadalajara, Mexico; and 2019 in Gwangju, South Korea.
“TV Asahi is a solid and reliable partner in Japan and we are very satisfied with this long-standing agreement,” Fina president Julio Maglione said. “Having a national team with plenty of aquatic stars also gives an added-value to TV Asahi’s important work in the Japanese territory.”
