Finnish pay-television sports broadcaster UrhoTV has today suspended its operations due to financial difficulties.
UrhoTV first revealed it was facing financial problems last autumn and has elected to suspend its television channel, and online service Urho Play, after corporate restructuring failed to address the issue.
“Our situation is critical, but we still have not given up hope of finding ways (to continue),” UrhoTV chief operating officer Markku Korhonen said. “The significance of the broadcasting of Finnish sports events is considerable, and we will fight until the end to find the best solution for all parties involved.”
