The Formula E electric car-racing series has extended its media rights deal with Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV and renewed a video partnership with technology developer 360 Racing.
Sport TV will continue to broadcast live coverage of Formula E throughout the 2015-16 season, which began in October and runs through to July next year. Sport TV has broadcast Formula E since its inaugural race in September 2014.
Meanwhile, Formula E has extended a deal for 360 Racing to continue to support on-board camera feeds for the 2015-16 season.
The company will support 360-degree video that enables fans to view live streaming of races from an on-board camera positioned in four Formula E cars. The camera system, which is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, was also in place during the 2014-15 season.
Fans can access this content free-of-charge through the official Formula E mobile app on smartphones and tablet devices.
Dmitry Kozko, president of 360 Racing, said: “Fans will be able to immerse themselves into the on-board cameras and look around freely as they would if there were in the car next to the pilots.”
