Malaysian state broadcaster RTM will broadcast live coverage of the country’s Putrajaya ePrix, the second round of the inaugural season of the Formula E motor-racing championship.
The deal is for this weekend’s event, with a view to an extended partnership. In addition to live race coverage on Saturday, RTM will air delayed footage from the morning’s qualifying session.
RTM will also review all the Formula E action together with pre-race build-up, podium celebrations and driver interviews.
Ali Russell, director of media at Formula E, said: “This is a country with a growing motorsport tradition and we hope Formula E becomes a permanent fixture for audiences to watch both here in Malaysia and around the world.”
Formula E staged its inaugural race in Beijing, China on September 13. The series said further television rights deals will be announced in the coming weeks.
