Formula E targets social media through video content partnership

The Formula E electric car-racing championship has agreed a partnership with broadcast and production company Little Dot Studios.

Little Dot Studios will create and distribute exclusive Formula E video content across social media platforms including YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat and Periscope. The length of the partnership was not disclosed.

The content will include highlights packages, compilation videos and behind-the-scenes footage.

Andy Taylor, chief executive at Little Dot Studios, said: “Formula E’s approach to social media and online video is rare – their willingness to share so much content with fans is a refreshing approach that puts fans first, and it’s clear that other sports rights-holders are taking note. I don’t think any sport has given so much behind-the-scenes content to fans and had such ambition to innovate on so many digital platforms.”

The 2015-16 Formula E championship begins on October 24 in Beijing, China.
