Sports streaming specialist FloSports has generated $21.2m (€18.8m) in new funding, with international media and entertainment company Discovery Communications and wrestling entertainment promoter WWE among the latest investors.
FloSports said that the money would help the company to expand its business verticals and grow into new sports.
DC Ventures and Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments led the financing, with existing shareholder Causeway Media Partners among the other investors.
FloSports now has raised a total of $32.2m, including $8m in first-round funding from Causeway Media Partners.
“We want to partner with world-class investors who share our vision to transform sports media,” FloSports co-founder and chief executive Martin Floreani said. “It’s exciting that visionaries in the media and OTT space have backed us to achieve this goal.”
FloSports currently operates a subscription-based network of 14 dedicated services in sports including track and field athletics, basketball, boxing, esports, gymnastics, mixed martial arts, volleyball and wrestling.
