Goal, the football news website operated by digital sports media company Perform, has agreed a media partnership with international pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports for the revived WAFU Nations Cup.
Goal.com will serve as a media partner for the WAFU Cup, a national team competition run by the West African Football Union. The platform will produce a range of exclusive content around the tournament.
Earlier this year, Fox Sports opted to revive the WAFU Cup by bringing together all 16 members nations of the WAFU to compete in Ghana. Fox Sports will also sponsor the contest.
The tournament group stages began on September 14, with the two semi-final matches to take place today (Thursday). The 2017 WAFU Cup final takes place on September 24.
WAFU is an association of nine (Zone A) and seven (Zone B) nations in West Africa. Zone A consists of Cape Verde, the Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Sierra Leone.
Zone B is made up of Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.
