GolfTV, the Discovery-owned online streaming service that will launch in January, will show coverage of the Ladies European Tour across 25 European countries until at least 2021.
The rights, which were acquired by Discovery, include live multi-platform coverage of every tournament on the tour, as well as the 2019 and 2021 editions of the Solheim Cup team event.
The rights cover Albania, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
Events covered by the deal include the Ladies Scottish Open, Women’s Indian Open and the AndalucíaCosta del Sol Open de España season finale, as well as the Golf Sixes tournament.
Under the agreement, Discovery will be able to sublicense television and digital coverage of the tour.
GolfTV has already lined up coverage of the PGA Tour and European Tour ahead of its launch. The streaming platform has additionally agreed an exclusive content partnership with Tiger Woods.
