IMG Media has confirmed Tom Harrison will head up the agency’s media distribution business in the UK and Ireland while retaining responsibility for international cricket board rights.
Harrison returns to London as the group's senior vice-president and head of sales in the UK after a six-year spell in Singapore, where he joined IMG Media at its Asian production headquarters in 2011 to head up sales production and undertake a pan-regional business development role following a four year stint as head of global syndication at pan-Asian broadcaster ESPN Star Sports.
He was responsible for the sales process of Cricket South Africa and Cricket Australia’s international rights and also led a number of successful sales processes in the Indian sub-continent.
In his new role, Harrison will report directly to Ioris Francini, executive vice-president and head of global sales and acquisitions at IMG. His work on cricket continues to fall under the remit of Chris Guinness, senior vice-president and head of IMG Media, Asia Pacific, while Harrison will also oversee media rights sales and development for the Indian sub-continent on a transitional basis.
Previously, he spent four years as head of broadcast marketing for the England and Wales Cricket Board, taking charge of the global sales of the ECB’s media rights, before moving to ESPN Star Sports.
