The European Hockey Federation has teamed up with sports and betting-related services company Sportradar to launch a new OTT platform.
EuroHockeytv.org (EHTV) has been launched ahead of the 2017 EuroHockey Championships, which commence in the Netherlands tomorrow (Friday).
EHTV will provide fans with free live games from the EuroHockey Championships, subject to geoblocking due to broadcast agreements in certain markets, along with the Euro Hockey League club competition and other EHF events.
EHTV will also make an archive of games, events and clips available for fans to watch on demand.
Angus Kirkland, EHF director general, said: “Part of our strategic plan, aligned to the FIH (International Hockey Federation), is to be fan focused and this new partnership will take us to the next level in engaging fans.
“Since 2016 EHF have been streaming many of our events. The new platform will provide a home for European hockey fans with free of charge access to the best hockey across Europe. It will also provide our member associations an outlet to showcase their events and engage the broader European community.”
