Specialist equestrian sports and lifestyle television channel Horse & Country is to expand its services into Germany later this year.
Horse & Country will link up with telecommunications firm Deutsche Telekom to launch a German channel in the country.
The channel will be carried on Deutsche Telekom’s ‘Entertain’ IPTV platform, which is available within the firm’s ‘Lifestyle’ and ‘Big TV’ pay-television packages.
The new channel will feature coverage of international and national level equestrian sport, as well as programming about German equestrian athletes. Horse & Country will also localise shows from its international network for the German market.
“Germany is not only a key market for equestrian sports and lifestyle, with 11m people expressing an interest in horses, but also the biggest pay-TV market in Europe,” H&C TV's chief executive, Heather Killen, said.
H&C is already available in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Sweden and Australia. Its German service will launch in the autumn.
