The International Biathlon Union has struck a four-year rights deal with the NBC Sports division of US media company NBCUniversal.
The contract will begin in December and extend through to the end of 2022. NBC Olympics will showcase more than 90 hours of biathlon coverage throughout the 2018-19 season across NBCSN, the Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, OlympicChannel.com and the Olympic Channel app.
Coverage will begins on December 2 from Pokljuka, Slovenia, on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA with the opening round of the World Cup season. NBC Sports will also cover the 2019 IBU World Championships from Östersund, Sweden, from March 7-17. NBCSN and Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA will present nearly 20 hours of World Championships programming.
Additional IBU coverage will also be available on NBC Sports Gold– NBC Sports’ direct-to-consumer live streaming product – and the Olympic Channel digital platforms. All events will be streamed live via NBC Sports Gold and the Olympic Channel app.
