The IMG agency has signed an expanded agreement to distribute the global rights to the Danish Superliga football competition.
The renewed six-year deal for Denmark’s top flight begins with the 2015-16 season and concludes with the 2020-21 campaign.
IMG first partnered with the Superliga in 2009-10 and the fresh terms include rights to the second tier 1st League for the first time. The Danish Cup knockout competition is also part of the contract.
Michael Mellor, senior vice-president and head of football at IMG Media, said: “We will work closely with the league to explore new opportunities to market Danish football across all media formats around the world.”
FC Midtjylland currently holds an eight-point lead at the top of the Superliga, with the 2014-15 season set to recommence following its winter break on February 20.
