Israeli FA to launch domestic tender

Two packages will be put up for auction: the weekly live Monday night top-pick Premier League match, now held by commercial broadcaster Channel 10 in a deal worth $6.5 million a year; and the rights for the State Cup, the Toto Cup and National League Games, Premier League highlights and radio rights, presently held by pay-broadcaster The Sports Channel.

Meanwhile, according to Haaretz.com, the IFA is threatening to take pay-broadcaster Charlton to court over about NIS 6 million in outstanding fees. Charlton has a five-year, NIS26 million-a-year deal with the IFA for a year for its live coverage of Premier League games, and is threatening to turn to the courts if the sum is not paid this week.

Three seasons and the rest of the current campaign remain on the five-year contract Charlton signed with the IFA, valued at $6 million, or some NIS 24 million, per season.
