Israeli commercial broadcaster Channel 10 has renewed a rights deal with Euroleague Basketball for coverage of Israeli team Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv’s matches in the competition.
Under the deal, Channel 10 will show all of the games involving Maccabi during the 2012-13 season of the Euroleague, the top pan-European club basketball tournament.
Channel 10 could show up to 31 games over the course of the season, depending on how far Maccabi progresses. Maccabi’s first game of the tournament will take place on October 11 at Unicaja Malaga in Spain.
“Broadcasting the games of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv expresses our desire to bring the public sporting events of great interest,” Channel 10 said. “These games are attractive to the various sectors of the public and the games of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv will be an important anchor on our broadcasting schedule.”
Channel 10 has shown Maccabi games in the Euroleague for all but one of the past five seasons.
