The International Table Tennis Federation will further develop its content on video-sharing platform YouTube after securing sponsorship deals with three companies.
The ITTF said YouTube.com/ITTFChannel has grown significantly over the past 12 months and now boasts over 20 million views and nearly 50,000 subscribers, which places it amongst the top four platforms delivered by Olympic international federations.
Table tennis brands Stiga, DHS and Nittaku have agreed to sponsor the Daily Review, Top 10 and Monthly PongCast segments on the ITTF channel for the rest of 2014. These three series will also appear on ITTF's YouKu channel to further engage the Chinese market.
ITTF marketing director Steve Dainton said: “Our YouTube platform is growing as one of the best promotional tools of the ITTF to complement our itTV platform. The different options possible on YouTube allow us to create some cool and virally interesting content that we can then work with sponsors to grow even further. The three products which will now have their own sponsors have grown significantly since their inception.”
