Team GB streaming platform to debut with table tennis match

The British Olympic Association (BOA) will launch a new digital platform with a live stream of the England national team’s Table Tennis European Championship qualification match against Slovenia.

Coverage of the game will be streamed live free-of-charge via the BOA’s official page on Facebook. Fans will also be able to view video interviews with players.

The two teams will meet at Medway Park in Gillingham, England, on November 22.

The move forms part of a wider initiative currently being tested by Table Tennis England. Earlier this month, the sport's national governing body linked up with TheSPORTbible to stream live coverage of England’s match against Greece via the online sports community’s Facebook page.

BOA chief executive Bill Sweeney said: “We saw the success of our Facebook Live productions during Rio 2016 but offering live sport and hosting Table Tennis England’s qualification match allows our fans to follow our sports closer than ever with Team GB.”
