International media rights agency and production group Mediapro has recruited Federico de Mojana from Eleven Sports, the Aser Ventures-owned subscription broadcaster, as head of development at Mediapro’s Italian arm.
Mediapro has appointed the experienced de Mojana to a position that, it says, will be responsible for “promoting the group’s consolidation, growth, and expansion in the Italian market”.
De Mojana has been hired to “strengthen the group’s presence in the Italian market” and identify “synergies and new business opportunities in the region”.
Mediapro last year bid to create a Serie A channel in a joint venture project with the league.
He joins from his current position as head of content and programming at Aser Ventures, in a role in which he works closely on Eleven Sports’ activities in Italy.
Eleven Sports entered the Italian market in 2017 through its acquisition of a majority stake in OTT streaming platform Sportube.
De Mojana joined Aser Ventures from the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Channel, where he was head of programming.
His previous experience also includes the management of Eurosport’s Italian operation, chief of staff at Paris-based satellite operator Eutelsat, and digital platform director at Polish pay-television operator Canal+ Cyfrowy.
