The Mediapro agency has struck carriage deals with Movistar, Vodafone, Orange, Deion Comunicaciones and Telecable for its LaLiga TV Bar channel, which provides football coverage in public places.
The channel covers the top-tier LaLiga and second-tier Segunda División, as well as the Uefa Champions League and Europa League.
The announcement comes after Mediapro recently renewed its deal with Spanish telco Telefónica for the rights to broadcast the afore-mentioned football properties, as well as games from the NBA and WNBA basketball leagues and other sports such as rugby, golf and cycling.
Telefónica operates the pay-TV service Movistar Plus and will showcase the rights in bars, cafes and restaurants. Telefónica has set a promotional rate of €320 ($355) per month for the first six months.
Earlier this year, Mediapro launched the Futbar app, which allows fans in Spain to locate the nearest bars that are televising matches from LaLiga, Copa del Rey, Champions League and other competitions.
