The Mediapro agency has been unveiled as the host broadcaster for the 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games multi-sport event in Lima, Peru.
Mediapro will produce the feed from all sports competitions during the event, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
The Games’ organising committee said that Mediapro was selected following an “open and transparent procurement process conducted under the government-to-government agreement between Peru and the UK”.
The Spanish agency will provide mobile units and HD technology services during the Games. An average of 15 cameras are expected to be used during each sports discipline. Mediapro will conduct parallel transmissions which will average 10 hours of transmission per day.
Mediapro will now work with Lima 2019 on Games pre-production in order to transmit signals to international channels. An international broadcast centre will be set up to receive all transmissions of sports competitions from Lima 2019 venues.
The Pan American Games are scheduled to run from July 26 to August 11, 2019, with the Parapan American Games to take place from August 23 to September 1.
