Mediapro, the Spanish agency and production company, has terminated its rights deal with the Primera División de la Liga de Fútbol Femenino, the top division of women’s football in Spain, it has been reported.
The decision, which was taken some months ago, according to 2Playbook in Spain, comes amid ongoing frustrations over the long-running process to instigate reform in the governance of women’s club football in Spain and encourage greater professionalisation and fully centralised broadcast rights sales.
