Multi-territory commercial and pay-television broadcaster Modern Times Group has acquired rights in Sweden and Norway to the Association of Tennis Professionals’ World Tour Masters 1000 series of tournaments and the season-ending ATP Finals.
The agreement will run through until 2019, with the World Tour Masters 1000 representing the third-highest tier of events on the men’s ATP calendar below the grand slams and the ATP Finals in London.
MTG will exploit its exclusive rights on its video streaming service Viaplay and pay-television channels, with selected matches being provided free-to-air.
In addition to the World Tour Masters 1000 and ATP Finals, MTG also holds the Swedish rights to the 2017 Stockholm Open for men’s singles and doubles, which takes place on October 15-22.
