NBC Sports Group appoints PepsiCo exec as CMO

The NBC Sports Group division of US media company NBCUniversal has appointed Jennifer Storms as chief marketing officer.

Storms joins NBC Sports Group from food, snack and beverage giant PepsiCo, where she most recently served as senior vice-president of global sports marketing. Commencing from October 1, Storms will oversee all marketing for NBC Sports Group assets, which include NBC Sports, pay-television channels NBCSN and Golf Channel, the 10 NBC Sports regional networks, NBC Sports Radio and NBC Sports Digital.

Storms will also be responsible for the NBC Sports Agency, which uses NBC Sports Group marketing resources to produce campaigns for group partners, which have included football’s English Premier League, golf’s PGA Tour and North American ice hockey league the NHL.

John Miller, the current chief marketing officer of NBC Sports Group, turns 65 next month and announced his personal decision to the company last week to transition his role. He will now focus solely on the Olympic Games.

Miller will lead the Olympic marketing efforts for the Rio 2016 summer Games and co-lead for the 2018 winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
