Polish pay-television operator NC Plus has extended its rights deal for the International Motorcycling Federation’s (FIM) Speedway World Championships.
Under the new contract running through to 2021, NC Plus retains exclusive rights to the Speedway Grand Prix series and Speedway World Cup. The deal has been struck with rights holders BSI Speedway.
Speedway continues to be one of Poland’s biggest sports with current World Championship leader Patryk Dudek, as well as Maciej Janowski, Piotr Pawlicki and Bartosz Zmarzlik starring in the SGP series.
Meanwhile, Poland’s national team has lifted the Speedway World Cup seven times since it first won the Ove Fundin Trophy in 2005. They defend the title in the SWC Final in the Polish town of Leszno on July 8.
