Dutch cable operator Ziggo and pay-television broadcaster Sport1 will join forces to launch a new sports channel, according to the AD.nl website.
AD said Ziggo Sport will launch before the end of the year and will be available, at no additional charge, to Ziggo’s subscriber base of more than 4m in the Netherlands.
Ziggo Sport will reportedly offer live action and highlights from properties including football’s Uefa Champions League, Spain's LaLiga and Euro 2016 national team qualifiers, along with Formula One motor racing and golf content.
AD added that Ziggo Sport is expected to become a significant challenger for the rights to major sports properties in the Netherlands.
