NFL touches down in India with Sony Six

Indian media company Multi Screen Media (MSM) has acquired rights for American football’s NFL in a four-year deal, from 2014-15 to 2017-18.

MSM, which struck the deal to cover the Indian subcontinent, will exploit the rights via Indian sports and entertainment pay-television channel Sony Six.

The deal includes television rights for live coverage of regular-season and play-off games as well as the Super Bowl championship match-up.

Sony Six will also show educational vignettes, highlights, the ‘Hard Knocks’ documentary series and other NFL-dedicated support programming in an effort to boost interest in the American football league.
