The Fox Sports division of US network Fox has agreed a four-year broadcast partnership to cover post-season college American football game the Foster Farms Bowl.
The deal, which covers the 2016 to 2019 editions of the game, was struck with NFL American football franchise the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers this week took over organisation of the Bowl from the San Francisco Bowl Game Association in an agreement that ensured the future of the annual game at its Levi’s Stadium home.
The 2016 Foster Farms Bowl will mark the 15th anniversary of the Bay Area’s college football bowl game, which annually features teams from the Pac-12 and Big Ten Conferences. Levi’s Stadium will host the matchup on December 28. It will be broadcast on Fox, marking the first time in its history that the game will air on network television. The game will also be simulcast in Spanish on Fox Deportes.
The 2015 Foster Farms Bowl took place on December 26 with Nebraska defeating UCLA 37-29.
