The Nigerian Olympic Committee has acquired rights to the 2012 Olympic Games in a deal with the Octagon agency, which is selling the free-to-air rights to the 2012 Games in sub-Saharan Africa excluding South Africa.
The Nigerian Olympic Committee is paying N80 million ($500,000/€400,600) for the free-to-air deal, which also includes radio rights.
The committee has granted television coverage of the Games to public-service broadcaster Nigerian Television Authority and commercial broadcaster African Independent Television. Radio Nigeria will provide the radio coverage of the Games.
