Dutch public broadcaster NOS has renewed its rights to the FIM Motocross World Championship for 2020.
Under the deal, NOS will hold multi-platform rights to the MXGP series, which it will exploit live on linear television as well as online. It will also deliver news from the series on its social media channels.
NOS has broadcast live coverage of all MXGP races since 2017.
The deal was agreed with Infront Moto Racing, an arm of the Infront agency. Infront Moto Racing manages the exclusive television, marketing and promotional worldwide rights to MXGP. The company was formerly known as Youthstream and rebranded in February.
Infront Moto Racing has agreed a number of new deals starting in the 2020 season, including with commercial broadcaster MTV3 in Finland, public-service broadcaster Rai in Italy, CBS Sports Network in the US, and motorsport-focused channel Automoto La Chaîne in France.
The MXGP 2020 season is provisionally set to resume on June 7, with the series suspended after two races due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The two races held were the British and Dutch events, both in early March, which NOS broadcast.
Infront Moto Racing also commercialises the rights to the FIM Motocross of Nations, the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship, the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship, the FIM Snowcross World Championship, the Motocross European Championship and the Motocross of European Nations.
