Norwegian public-service broadcaster NRK is close to striking a rights deal for events staged by the FIS, the global governing body of skiing, according to the Kampanje news website.
The rights will run for five years, from 2016-17 to 2020-21. The FIS World Cup events covered by the deal cover Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, freestyle and snowboard action.
The report said that Norwegian commercial and pay-television broadcaster TV2, pay-television broadcaster Discovery and media company Modern Times Group were also in the bidding process.
The sales process is being handled by the Infront Sports & Media agency on behalf of the FIS.
