Norwegian public-service broadcaster NRK has agreed a sublicensing deal with streaming company Viaplay for rights to the 2023 and 2025 Nordic World Ski Championships, the latter of which will be a ‘home’ event.

NRK’s deal with Viaplay comes after the latter, then known as Nent Group, in April 2019 acquired rights to a host of winter sports properties in the Nordics from the Infront agency, landing a blow to public-service broadcasters in the region.
