Norwegian state broadcaster NRK has extended a rights deal for coverage of the Biathlon World Championships and World Cup, while the country’s commercial and pay-television broadcaster, TV2, has snapped up rights to a package of skiing events held in Switzerland.
NRK’s deal will fun for four seasons, from 2018-19 to 2021-22.
The agreement will cover the annual World Cup and the World Championships in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
TV2 will show Nordic skiing events which are held in Switzerland for the next six winters, also through to the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
Both broadcasters acquired the rights by virtue of their membership of the European Broadcasting Union, which last month struck deals with the IBU and the Swiss skiing federation.
