O2 Sport, a yet-to-be-launched subscription sports channel operated by telecommunications company O2 in the Czech Republic, has acquired rights for the Czech Liga, the top tier of football in the country.
The rights will run for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
O2 Sport will be able to select the first choice match in every round of the season – rights that were previously held by public-service broadcaster Czech Television. At least two matches per round must be shown on free-to-air television.
O2 Sport acquired the rights from the Pragosport agency.
Ahead of its launch in August, O2 Sport has already acquired a host of rights, including coverage of football’s Uefa Champions League over three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.
