Asian mixed martial arts promotion ONE Championship has secured a five-year rights deal with Amazon Prime Video in the United States and Canada.
As part of the agreement, a minimum of 12 events will be streamed live in the region in primetime.
ONE previously had a three-year rights deal with Turner Sports in the States, in which events were aired on the Bleacher Report app and infrequently on TNT.In July 2021, ONE appointed experienced American sports and media executive David Levy to its board of directors as part of its push into the US.
“ONE Championship is thrilled to work with Prime Video, one of the largest premium sports content providers in the world, to bring our live events closer to fans in the United States and Canada," said Chatri Sityodtong, ONE Championship chairman and chief executive.
"As the world’s largest martial arts organization, we believe our collaboration with Prime Video will allow us to reach a wider North American audience that is hungry for an authentic and differentiated product you simply can’t get with any other organization," Sityodtong said.
It is the latest commercial deal for ONE, which recently appointed the sports and entertainment agency Talisman to identify new commercial opportunities in markets outside of Southeast Asia. You need to have a subscription to access this content
