Digital sports content and media group Perform has today (Wednesday) launched its new OTT sports subscription service, DAZN, in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
The live sports streaming service will be offered at a monthly price of €9.99 ($11) with no long-term fixed contract and no advertising. Customers can also try the service for free for the first month.
DAZN’s content portfolio will include exclusive access to football’s English Premier League starting with Saturday’s 2016-17 Premier League opener between reigning champion Leicester City and Hull City.
DAZN will also provide every match live from the Spanish LaLiga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1, plus highlights of every match from German Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga.
The new service will also offer North American basketball and American football leagues the NBA and NFL, as well as tennis, motorsport, boxing, ice hockey, rugby and darts.
Simon Denyer, chief executive of Perform, said: “As a subscriber you’ll have the freedom to set your own sporting agenda. We’re delivering something very different.”
DAZN is also launching in Japan, with Perform having made a headline rights acquisition last month. The Japan Professional Football League, organising body of club football in the country, agreed a 10-season rights deal with the digital sports media group.
Under the deal, Perform has secured rights to broadcast all J1, J2 and J3 league tournaments from the 2017 to 2026 seasons.
