Peruvian body awards football rights

The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has awarded rights for the national team’s matches between September 2018 and December 2021 to four media companies.

The FPF said that free-to-air broadcaster Compañía Latinoamericana de Radiodifusión and pay-television broadcasters Media Networks Latin America and Gol TV Latinoamericana will show the qualifying matches ahead of the 2022 Fifa World Cup. Grupo RPP was also awarded radio rights.

The federation said that it had quadrupled its income from the rights on a cycle-to-cycle basis from holding its first public tender for the men’s national team’s rights. The total rights fee is reported to be $80m (€68m) over the cycle.

A total of 10 companies participated in the tender.

Late last year, the FPF appointed the Octagon agency to consult on its rights-sales process for the next cycle.
