Dutch Eredivisie football club Ajax has agreed a partnership with Chinese online television service provider PPTV Sports.
PPTV has signed a three-year contract with Ajax, covering the 2015-16 to 2017-18 seasons, under which the club will receive a dedicated channel through which its games will be broadcast.
PPTV will also offer Ajax TV International, a weekly 55-minute programme produced by the club which offers match highlights, interviews with players and coaching staff, news bulletins and archive footage.
Ajax, which offers a dedicated Chinese-language version of its website, said the partnership has been struck due to the large fanbase that the club holds in China.
The partnership is separate to last week’s deal between PPTV and the Eredivisie, which covers all platforms including television, online and mobile for the top division of Dutch football on the Chinese mainland for the same three-year period.
