Organisers of the Pro12 have struck a deal for video-sharing website YouTube to provide highlights of the rugby union club competition worldwide.
A dedicated channel on the website offers in-game highlights of matches at the tournament, which features teams from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Italy.
Extensive post-game highlights are then available after the matches have concluded.
The channel also features archived footage of matches from past editions of the tournament.
YouTube recently sealed a three-year deal, from 2013 to 2015, for highlights coverage of Six Nations rugby union national team matches.
“Building on our recent partnership with the Six Nations, we’re delighted that highlights of the Pro12 season will now be available to YouTube users,” Stephen Nuttall, senior sports director for YouTube’s Europe, Middle East and Africa division, said. “The Pro12 features many of Europe’s top teams and players, and we strongly believe that YouTube will help bring it to a much broader, global audience.”
