Pay-television broadcaster Setanta Sports agreed a carriage deal with Thai pay-television operator TrueVisions.
Setanta programming is now available on TrueVisions channel TrueSport Extra 1, in the broadcaster’s ‘platinum’ and ‘gold’ channel packages.
“TrueVisions is the leading platform in Thailand and we are really pleased to be part of their offering,” Setanta managing director Roger Hall said.
Setanta already has carriage deals in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Mongolia.
Rugby is central to Setanta’s Asian programming portfolio with live coverage of more than 500 matches from the northern and southern hemispheres each year.
The Six Nations, Super Rugby, Rugby Championship (formerly the Tri Nations) and Currie Cup events will be among the rugby union tournaments to be broadcast live by Setanta this year, while live rugby league games from the National Rugby League and State Of Origin in Australia will also be shown.
