The Professional Triathletes Organisation has stated global broadcast viewing figures for the inaugural edition of its Collins Cup competition surpassed all expectations, citing figures from sports, sponsorship and entertainment research company, YouGov Sport.

The PTO’s first flagship event took place in Šamorín, near Bratislava, Slovakia, on August 28, intending to be a game-changing new race format for triathlon. Modelled on golf’s Ryder Cup, teams of internationals, European, and American athletes were pitted against one another in a first of its kind format for the sport.
