Racecourse Media Group, the holding company responsible for a range of media and data rights involving a host of horse-racing destinations, has signed a two-year extension to its partnership with Dubai’s Meydan Group.
Under the agreement, RMG will produce and distribute the full season of events at Meydan Racecourse. The 2017-18 Meydan season gets underway today (Thursday) and concludes on March 31 with the $30m (€25.8m) Dubai World Cup.
RMG’s production and on-course coverage will be supported by Timeline Television. RMG has produced and distributed coverage from the racecourse for the past two seasons and will offer a range of rights packages for the 2017-18 campaign.
Frank Gabriel Jr, executive director of racing at Dubai Racing Club, said: “Racecourse Media Group provided first-rate production and presentation of racing from Meydan for the last two seasons and RMG also took the event to new and increased audiences via their distribution.
“The 2017 Dubai World Cup was the first horse race to be broadcast live on airlines and cruise-lines via the Sport 24 channel and NBC Sports also broadcast the card in the US.”
RMG is the parent company of pay-television broadcaster Racing UK, which will be showing every fixture live from Meydan this season.
