Horse racing pay-television channel Racing UK has launched a pay per day service on digital-terrestrial platform Freeview.
Racing UK Pay Per Day will be available to Freeview customers, providing 24-hour access to the channel’s programming at a cost of £4.99 ($7.95/€5.95), with no contract, set-up costs or installation fees.
The service is targeting racing fans who pinpoint specific race days. It commences with today’s opening day of the Cambridgeshire meeting, an event exclusive to Racing UK and one of more than 650 live meetings it carries per year.
Clive Cottrell, director of marketing at Racing UK, said: “Only five per cent of racing is on terrestrial television (in the UK), which means Racing UK offers a host of top-class exclusive action. You can start watching immediately and (Pay Per Day) should be perfect for those people who like to dip in and dip out.”
Racing UK said its new service will run for an initial trial period.
