The rights contracts will cover the 2015-16 and 2016-17 Serie A seasons, with Rai picking up the ‘gold’ package and Sky the ‘silver’ and ‘bronze’ packages.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport said that under the terms of the deals, Rai will be able to broadcast Serie A’s game of the week, while Sky will broadcast second and third choice fixtures. Corriere added that the deals will provide enhanced coverage for the league in Italy.
