European Professional Club Rugby, the governing body for club rugby union in Europe, has awarded the RDA agency global distribution rights for its Champions Cup and Challenge Cup competitions.
The four-season deal will run from 2018-19 to 2021-22. The agreement excludes the UK, Ireland, France and the US.
The deal covers around 100 matches per season and it is hoped the agreement will develop the reach and engagement of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup.
RDA replaces the IMG agency as the international rights distributor of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup. The tender process for the new rights was managed by The Sports Consultancy. EPCR said bids were received from multiple global agencies and both national and pan-regional broadcasters.
The deal comes after EPCR earlier this month awarded the NBC Sports division of US media company NBCUniversal rights for the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup for the same four-season period.
