Brazilian commercial broadcaster RedeTV has struck a deal with streaming platform DAZN for rights to Liga MX and the Süper Lig, the top tiers of club football in Mexico and Turkey, respectively.
RedeTV confirmed to the Observatório da Televisão website that it will show one match per weekend from each league. The deal will run for one year.
DAZN acquired Liga MX and Süper Lig rights in Brazil last October. The Liga MX deal runs through until 2021, with the Süper Lig agreement running until the end of the 2021-22 season.
Last February, RedeTV secured rights to the Copa Sudamericana and Italy’s Serie A through a similar sublicensing deal with DAZN. The one-year agreement grants RedeTV rights to one match from each round of the Copa Sudamericana, and one match every week from Serie A.
Observatório da Televisão reported that RedeTV is set to announce a renewed deal with DAZN for the Copa Sudamericana.
