Irish public-service broadcaster RTÉ has announced the acquisition of rights for the 2014 winter and 2016 summer Olympic Games.
The deal covers television, online, mobile and radio rights, and includes live coverage and highlights.
RTÉ agreed the deal with the Sportfive agency, which is distributing the rights on behalf of the International Olympic Committee in 40 European territories
RTÉ said that it would show live coverage of the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as daily highlights of the 2014 winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, on its RTÉ News Now rolling news channel.
Coverage plans for the 2016 summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, have not been confirmed.
